Building my first portfolio website was an important step in my journey as a WordPress developer. After purchasing hosting and a domain, I started designing a website that could showcase my skills, projects, and learning progress.
I chose WordPress because it offers flexibility, ease of use, and a large ecosystem of plugins and themes. For page building, I used Elementor, which helped me create professional-looking layouts without writing complex code.
While building the website, I learned several important lessons:
- The importance of planning a website structure before designing.
- How spacing and typography affect user experience.
- Why mobile responsiveness matters.
- How to organize content to improve readability.
The website includes sections such as Hero, About, Services, Portfolio, Blog, and Contact. Each section helped me practice different aspects of web design and development.
Although the website is still evolving, completing the first version gave me confidence and practical experience. It also taught me that learning by building real projects is one of the fastest ways to improve as a developer.
My next goal is to improve the website further, add more portfolio projects, and continue learning advanced WordPress techniques.
